I don’t really know how to start off this post besides saying, “SURPRISE!”…? So clearly I’m one of those (annoying? whatever) people that likes to take pictures of meals they eat. I mean, it isn’t ALL the time, just whenever I think it looks prettier than me or especially tasty. I think I follow more “foodie” accounts of restaurants or dietitians than I do people I actually know, and it got me thinking…

“What if I just made an account of the food I make?”
“People would definitely think I am weird…except for other people that have one?”
“If I do make one, I can use it to bolster my interest in dietetics and nutrition right?”
“Ok ok, I’m making one, but just won’t tell anyone about it”

After sharing that riveting and raw dialogue I had with myself, I am finally coming out of the *kitchen* a year and a half later to publicly share with yall my little health/foodie/fitness instagram, @foodfitnessandfaith (cue the gasps)!!! Follow if you want, but only under the condition that you don’t laugh too hard at my posts, because they are skirting on the edge of cheesy and slightly lame. The whole instagram fitness and health community is actually made up of some really cool, supportive, and insanely talented people, and I’ve made so many connections–both in real life and internet wise–with other people that share the same passions as me. I know I can always count on these girls to congratulate me on a new PR, compliment me on my suuuuper artsy shot of my oatmeal, or wish me a good day as if we have been friends for ages. I guess that whole hashtag #fitfam is a real thing…

With that being said, if you want a peek into what I eat (good and bad), what I can cook up in the kitchen, or what I’m doing at the gym, then I hope you enjoy it! Educating others and sharing what I know about food and nutrition is something I’m passionate about, so why not reach out to as many people as I can? If you have any suggestions or anything in particular you want to see, let me know!! I’ll leave y’all with some shots of my recent eats to get your tastebuds salivating 🙂

Pro tips to help you maximize your membership :)

Anticipate obstacles: obstacles are like red lights on the way to the store: an inevitable part of the journey. Anticipate them and don’t let them define your ability or stop you from trying.

Take action: you can absorb all the information and education you want, but that’s not what leads to change — taking ACTION is!! Regardless of the results, taking action helps you gain clarity to continue pressing forward. I know this can bring discomfort, but temporary discomfort is better than longterm discomfort. God is mighty in you — you GOT this!

Ditch all or nothing thinking: we believe something is better than nothing and ANY effort counts. You don’t have to implement 100% of the content to see change and improvements in your health. Each action you take compounds. 40% effort is better than 0%

Ask questions: if you’re confused, not sure where to start, feeling behind, or just have a question for me or the group, ask it! Someone else probably has the same question, so by speaking up you’re getting the answer and helping someone else do the same.

getting started:

New around here? Welcome! Check out some helpful tips on how to get started, below!

Say hi and introduce yourself: click here to join the private group on Circle, and introduce yourself in the “Say Hello!” space. This is the PLACE TO BE for ongoing encouragement, support, and inspiration through the week. Post questions, workout or nutrition wins, or encouragements for others and be a part of a community pursuing the same goals as you.

Familiarize yourself with the membership portal: things should be fairly simple to navigate. Monthly content will be found in that months module. All other content will be found in the resource bank.

Download your resources: download, print, and/or save the monthly guides, recipe collections, and workouts to your phone for easy access at the start of each month.

Take action: taking in information can feel productive, but real change comes from taking action!
