….can be summed up by the photo below:
I purchased this devotional (Food, Fitness, and Faith for Women — the inspiration for my instagram name has been debunked!) my freshman year of college, and have returned to it countless times to remind myself what is important to me, and why. I personally view working out and eating healthy as a way to not only worship God, but also as a way to respect His temple — my body. This is something I’m still working on, and will continue to work on, throughout the remainder of my life. There are times that I may eat enough chips and guacamole for 5 people, have a whole bottle of wine in one night, or skip my workout three days in a row, but I think these are also aspects of a healthy lifestyle that focuses on balance. I mean, I LOVE a good cookie + ice cream sandwich every once in a while, okay?? We aren’t perfect, and God knows that. He also knows that I am trying to live a life honoring Him, whether that be through going to church on Sunday, participating in small group, or eating an extra serving of veggies instead of ice cream because it is what my body needs. As a future nutrition educator and registered dietitian (fingers crossed), I want to use 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 as my health and teaching philosophy; I want to be a living example of this verse for my future clients.
Okay! I hope that wasn’t too deep and personal as I want the feel for my blog to be lighthearted and fun, but it is something that means a lot to me and therefore I felt it was important to share. Basically, I’m just thankful that God #blessed me with a body that allows me to do so much, whether it be run a half marathon, deadlift 130 pounds, or simply walk to class, and I choose to live a healthy lifestyle as a way to say “Thanks God, you are the bomb.com!!”. 🙂
xo,
