Hi guys! I hope everyone is having a good summer so far. It feels unusually hot in Georgia for it to be the middle of June, but I wouldn’t expect anything less. Despite the heat, I’ve woken up more times than not craving a bowl of oatmeal. I suppose I could go the overnight oats route and eat them cold, but I never think about making them the night before…maybe I’ll try that tonight… Anyway. It got me thinking, and I realized that I still haven’t put up a recipe for how I make egg white oatmeal!? I almost feel like I’ve failed as an amateur food blogger. I’ve posted many pictures of my various bowls of egg white oatmeal on instagram and have received countless comments asking how to make it – to which I gladly will comment back!! – but felt it would be easier to have it up on the blog for easier access (I mean, duh…).
I remember the first time I heard about egg white oatmeal…I kinda scrunched my face up and said “I’m sorry…what?”. Like, it sounds kinda gross, and I get that. The first time my dad saw me pour in an egg white I think he thought I was insane.
I guess it can be an odd concept, and you probably think it tastes all eggy and weird, but it doesn’t! I promise! The egg white not only gives a little protein boost, but also adds a bit more fluffiness and creaminess to the oatmeal, which I prefer.
So, without further adieu, I present to you my simple staple recipe for egg white oatmeal! I tried to photograph the process to make it a bit easier to picture and understand, but the lighting was not in my favor. I think you’ll get the idea, though đ And if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this post, or on my instagram! The whole reason I created this blog + account was so I could inspire and connect with others to make eating healthy easier and fun, so ask away! The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
